Particularly: “Ratliff considers this a native Hmongic term, but doesn't give a reconstruction for ntxwm.[1] Perhaps it's a nativized borrowing from Chinese (, “nominalizer suffix”)? In that case, partial calque of Chinese 腸子肠子 (chángzi, “(dialectal) sausage”)?”
