Dutch edit

Etymology edit

From Middle Dutch huussoekinge (threspassing). Equivalent to huis (huis) +‎ zoeking (search). In view of Old High German hūssuohha (house-search), this may be a very old formation (compare German Haussuchung).

Pronunciation edit

  • IPA(key): /ˈɦœy̯ˌsu.kɪŋ/
  • (file)
  • Hyphenation: huis‧zoe‧king

Noun edit
