Etymology 2 edit
From Estonian liivi, from Middle Low German [Term?] (whence also German Live (“Livonian”); the -b- > -v- occurred at this stage, -b- is original and forms with -v- are mediated through Germanic),[2] probably originally from the endonym Livonian lībõ, līb (compare also Old East Slavic либь (libĭ), Latvian lībis).
