From the Book of Esther 4:1: A skoro Mardocheusz dowiedział się o wszystkim, co czyniono, rozdarł szaty i okrył się worem i popiołem, i wyszedł na środek miasta, i lamentował głośno i gorzko (English: When Mordecai learned of all that had been done, he tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and ashes, and went out into the city, wailing loudly and bitterly).
