Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *rina, from Proto-Indo-European *h₃er- (to move, stir), compare Ancient Greek ὄρνυμι (órnumi, to raise; arouse; stir up), Sanskrit ऋणोति (ṛṇóti, to rise, move).[1] Alternatively, perhaps from Proto-Indo-European *h₁reyd- (to lean); compare Ancient Greek ἐρείδω (ereídō, to prop, support).[2]
