Usage notes edit

It is commonly used followed by the appropriate form of van (to be) (omitted in the third-person present indicative as usual) to express to witness (to see or gain knowledge of through experience, literally to be the witness of [an event or the fact that…]), hence with -nak/-nek. When referring to multiple people, its plural form tanúi can be used.
