Vietnamese edit

Etymology edit

Sino-Vietnamese word from 直心, composed of (straight; ortho-) and (center), perhaps a direct calque of a European word for "orthocenter". Unintuitively, this term has nothing to do with the point of intersection of the three đường trung trực (segment-bisecting lines) of the three sides of a triangle, the circumcenter, which does not have a common name in Vietnamese.

Pronunciation edit

Noun edit

trực tâm

  1. (geometry) an orthocenter
