  1. A policy of, or belief in, uniformity or sameness.

      The real issue at stake concerned differences in values and norms within cultures and countries, whereby pluralism clashed with uniformism.
  2. (geology) The doctrine of uniformity in the geological history of the Earth; in part equivalent to uniformitarianism, but also used, more broadly, as opposed to catastrophism.
