veșted

Romanian
editEtymology
editEither from a Vulgar Latin root *vēscidus, from Latin vēscus, or more likely from Late Latin viscidus (deriving from an alternative sense closer to that of "bitter" or "sour" as opposed to "sticky", the standard one), from Latin viscum (“mistletoe”).[1] Cognate to Aromanian veashtid. Compare also Albanian vjeshtë (“fall, autumn”).
