Etymology edit

From Ottoman Turkish یرمك (yermek, loathe; blame), from Proto-Turkic *yẹr- (to hate).[1] Cognate with Kazakh жеру (jeru), Southern Altai јериир (ǰeriir, to hate), Old Turkic [script needed] (yer-, to hate, dispraise),[2] , Yakut сир (sir, to disdain, dislike, reject).
