Νεμογαρδάς (Nemogardás) is from misspelled *Νεβογαρδάς (*Nebogardás), from South Slavic *Новогардъ, from Proto-Slavic *Novogordъ / *Novъgordъ, from *novъ (new) +‎ *gordъ. Compare Old East Slavic Новъгородъ (Novŭgorodŭ).
