Etymology

edit

Formal, perfect tense participle in the fashion of the ancient participles, of the verb επαναλαμβάνομαι (epanalamvánomai, I am repeated), passive voice of modern επαναλαμβάνω or ancient ἐπαναλαμβάνω. Morphologically from επανα- (again) + ancient εἰλημμένος (eilēmménos, who has been admitted) or modern ειλημμένος (who has been taken). For spelling discussion see Etymology of ειλημμένος. Possibly,[1] also a semantic loan of the English repeated.
