From the modern κρεμ(ώ) + -άω, from Ancient Greek κρεμῶ (kremô), contracted form of κρεμάω (kremáō)[1] < κρέμαμαι (krémamai), κρίμνημι (krímnēmi) of uncertain etymon.[2] Also see κρέμομαι (krémomai). Cognate with Mariupol Greek кримазу (krimazu).
