Etymology edit

Inherited from Byzantine Greek ψάχνω (psákhnō), from Ancient Greek ψαύω (psaúō, “touch”) based on past tense stem's change ψαυσ- > ψαξ- and further metaplasm similar to the pattern διωξ-, έδιωξα (édioxa, past tense) - διώχνω (dióchno, “chase away”, present tense)^[1] - ancient διώκω (diṓkō).
