Etymology edit

Either from Greek καίω (kaío, to burn) and αυγά (avgá, eggs)[1] or borrowed from Ottoman Turkish قایغنه (kayğana), from Classical Persian خاگینه (xāgīna).[1] Compare Serbo-Croatian ка̏јганаkȁjgana.
