Etymology edit

From Ottoman Turkish زبل (zibil) and in some dialects from Azerbaijani zibil, ultimately from Arabic زِبْل (zibl). The Van dialect զըբիլ (zəbil) is probably borrowed via Northern Kurdish zibîl.
