ArmenianEdit

EtymologyEdit

From Turkish içli köfte, from içli(stuffed, with filling), from (the inside) + -li, and köfte(kofta). Literally, "stuffed kofta", called so because usually this dish is made in a form of torpedo-shaped fried croquette stuffed with minced beef or lamb.

Turkish köfte together with Armenian քյուֆթա(kʿyuftʿa) are borrowed from Persian. See քյուֆթա(kʿyuftʿa).
