רֵיקָם • (rekám)

1. Having nothing at hand.
   • Tanach, Genesis 31:42, with translation of the Jewish Publication Society:

     לוּלֵי אֱלֹהֵי אָבִי […] הָיָה לִי כִּי עַתָּה רֵיקָם שִׁלַּחְתָּנִי

     lulé elohé aví […] háya lí kí atá rekám shilachtáni

     Except the G-d of my father […] had been on my side, surely now hadst thou sent me away empty.

   • Tanach, Deuteronomy 16:16, with translation of the English Standard Version:

     וְלֹא יֵרָאֶה אֶת פְּנֵי יהוה רֵיקָם

     v'ló yeraé ét p'né YHVH rekám

     They shall not appear before the LORD empty-handed.
