wanāma l-ḵaliyyu walam tarqudi
wabāta wabātat lahu laylatun
kalaylati ḏī l-ʕāʔiri l-ʔarmadi - Long was your night at al-Athmud
the carefree one slept, but you did not slumber
he spent the night and it passed for him
like a night of someone with sore and inflamed eyes
