- الْغَيْرَةُ غَالِبًا مَا تَنْبَعُ مِن مَشَاعِرِ الْنُّقْصِ أَوْ قِلَّةِ تَقْدِيرِ لِلْذَّاتِ، وَمُقَارَنَةُ الشَّخْصِ بِنَفْسِهِ بِاِسْتِمْرَارِ مَعَ الْآخَرِينَ وَالْشُّعُورِ بِأَنَّ لَدَيْهِمُ الْمَزِيدِ أَوْ أَفْضَلِ يُمْكِنُ أَنْ يُؤْدِيَ إِلَى مَشَاكِلِ إِضَافِيَّةٍ فِي مَجَالِ تَقْدِيرِ الذَّاتِ.
- al-ḡayratu ḡāliban mā tanbaʕu min mašāʕiri l-nnuqṣi ʔaw qillati taqdīri lilḏḏāti, wamuqāranatu š-šaḵṣi binafsihi biistimrāri maʕa l-ʔāḵarīna wālššuʕūri biʔanna ladayhimu l-mazīdi ʔaw ʔafḍali yumkinu ʔan yuʔdiya ʔilā mašākili ʔiḍāfiyyatin fī majāli taqdīri ḏ-ḏāti.
- Jealousy often stems from feelings of inadequacy or low self-esteem, and constantly comparing oneself to others and feeling that others have more or are better can lead to further self-esteem issues.
