Inherited from Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (fryyh, fryh /⁠frēh⁠/, more) in its compound form [Book Pahlavi needed] (frh, fryh /⁠frah, freh⁠/, more), attested also in derivatives 𐫛𐫡𐫆𐫏𐫅 (prẖyd /⁠frahīd⁠/), 𐫜𐫡𐫆𐫏𐫅 (frẖyd /⁠frahīd⁠/, many) and [Book Pahlavi needed] (prhyst(') /⁠frahist⁠/, most), itself comparative of Old Persian 𐎱𐎽𐎺 (paruv, much, many, too much, very), from Proto-Iranian *pr̥Húš, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *pr̥Húš.
