مالیات

Persian edit
Etymology edit
Borrowed from Arabic مَالِيَّات (māliyyāt).
Originally the Arabic plural of مالیه (mâliye, “finance”), taking on the sense of "taxes" only from the Qajar period in the nineteenth century. Largely displaced older باژ (bâž) and خراج (xarâj), which used to be the normal words for taxation.
