editFrom Aramaic טֵיגְנָא (ṭēgnā), from Ancient Greek τήγανον (tḗganon); compare Turoyo ܛܰܓ݂ܢܳܐ (ṭaġno) and also borrowed into Arabic طَاجِن (ṭājin). Doublet of ܐܲܓܵܢܵܐ (aggānā, “basin, bowl”).
