Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘭𑘰𑘨𑘲𑘏 (sārīkha) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), from Prakrit 𑀲𑀸𑀭𑀺𑀓𑁆𑀔 (sārikkha), from Sanskrit सदृक्ष (sadṛkṣa). Cognate to Gujarati સરખું (sarkhũ), Hindi सरीखा (sarīkhā).
