Borrowed from Classical Persian حق (haq(q)), from Arabic حَقّ (ḥaqq). Compare Punjabi ਹੱਕ (hakka) / حَق (ḥaq), Gujarati હક (hak), Marathi हक्क (hakka), Bengali হক (hok).
