Borrowed from Classical Persian حق (haq(q)), from Arabic حَقّ (ḥaqq). Compare Punjabi ਹੱਕ (hakka) / حَق (ḥaq), Gujarati હક (hak), Marathi हक्क (hakka), Bengali হক (hok).

    tumhāre pās śikāyat karne kā haq nahī̃ hai.
    You do not have the right to complain.
    इस मकान पर मेरा भी हक़ है।
    is makān par merā bhī haq hai.
    I also have a right to this house.
