Etymology edit

Inherited from Prakrit 𑀲𑀸𑀯𑀡 (sāvaṇa), from Sanskrit श्रावण (śrā́vaṇa). Doublet of શ્રાવણ (śrāvaṇ). Cognate with Assamese শাওণ (xaün), Bengali শাওন (śaōn), Hindi सावन (sāvan), Punjabi سَون (saun), and Sindhi सांवणु (sā̃vaṇu).
