Borrowed from Pali siddhi (happening, incidence, occurrence; fulfillment; success; etc) or Sanskrit सिद्धि (siddhi, fulfillment; success; etc); perhaps via Old Khmer siddhi (achievement, accomplishment, success; fulfillment; entitlement, title; ownership; etc). Cognate with Modern Khmer សិទ្ធិ (sətthiʼ).
