From Middle Korean ᄀᆞᆮ〮ᄒᆞ다〮 (kóthòtá). Cognate with Korean 같다 (gatda)

Sense three is possibly borrowed from Korean 같다 (gatda), since 닮다 (damda) is much more commonly used in that construction.
