From ᾰ̓ν- (an-, un-) +‎ ἀντᾰποδῐ́δωμῐ (antapodídōmi, I give back) +‎ -τος (-tos), from ἀντῐ- (anti-) + ᾰ̓πο- (apo-) + δῐ́δωμῐ (dídōmi).
