From ἐμπειρῐκός (empeirikós): as a noun, a substantivisation of its feminine forms in elliptical use for ἐμπειρικὴ αἵρεσις (hē empeirikḕ haíresis, the system of philosophic principles based on experience); as an adjective, regularly declined forms.
