First attested in the Seokbo sangjeol (釋譜詳節 / 석보상절), 1447, as Middle Korean 오ᄅᆞᄂᆞ리다 (Yale: wolonolita). Equivalent to 오르— (oreu-) + 내리— (naeri-) + —다 (-da).
