English edit

Etymology edit

A clipping derived from incel. A highly-productive suffix; compare the more offensive -fag, which may have partly inspired it. First attested in c. late 2010s.

Possibly influenced by honorific Japanese suffixes associated with anime and manga culture (as with 4chan suffix above), like -kun, -chan, etc.
