Appendix:Months of the Chinese Year
In modern usage, the months of the Chinese lunar calendar are referred to by number (e.g. "first month", "fifth month", "eighth month". The following archaic names for the months of the year in the Chinese calendar are still in use to a limited degree:

Under the Chinese calendar, a thirteeth intercalary month is inserted at varying intervals, which may be placed after any regular month.
