1. (Christianity) The alleged discovery of the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified, by St Helena, mother of the Emperor Constantine, in 326 C.E..
2. (Christianity) The church festival observed on 3 May in commemoration of St Helena's alleged discovery of the so-called True Cross.
