From Proto-Indo-European *h₁eyǵʰ- (to desire), formed with the same *-lā suffix that belies *kaglā (yielding Welsh cael (to get)), *sāglā (yielding Welsh hawl (plea, demand, claim)),[1] and *gabaglā (taking).
