Proto-Finnic

edit

Etymology 1

edit

From Proto-Uralic *śada- (to rain).

Verb

edit

*satadak (stem *sata-)

  1. to fall, to drop (from height)
  2. to precipitate (i.e. fall from the sky), to rain, to snow
