Compare Bondo siŋi, Santali ᱥᱤᱧ (siñ). The Munda reflexes are of the "Northern Austroasiatic" type (with palatal stop or fricative), opposed to the "non-Northern" type (with alveolar/dental stop). Compare Sora ʌsaŋ vs. Vietnamese đắng (bitter).
