Reconstruction:Proto-Slavic/verti
Proto-Slavic
editEtymology
editInherited from Proto-Balto-Slavic *wérˀtei, perhaps ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *h₂wer-.
Slavic may have inherited two synchronic forms from the same root:
- thematic present with fixed accent;
- athematic sigmatic aorist with mobile.
