Meaning "howling"

Is there any indication for meaning howling in Indo-Iranian or Greek for this root? In Northern IE, we have:

• Proto-Balto-Slavic: *śawā́ˀ
  • Proto-Slavic: *sova (“owl”) (AP b => no laryngeal)
• Proto-Celtic: *kawannos
  • Welsh: cuan (“owl”)
  • → Latin: cavannus (“owl”)
• Proto-Germanic *hūwô (“owl”), Proto-Germanic *hūwilōną (“to howl”)

which formally could continue *ḱew(H)-? Bezimenen (talk) 13:48, 26 November 2019 (UTC)

I don't see how. Looks just like an unrelated owl word, if not independent formations. To cite Matasovic, "The words for 'owl' are often onomatopoetic, cf. also OCS sova 'owl', as if from *ḱaweh₂. However, all of these words could be parallel formations rather than inherited from the PIE word for 'owl'." --{{victar|talk}} 17:13, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
