Nasal consonants

@Aryamanarora, माधवपंडित how come so many descendants and borrowings have a nasal consonant? And this isn't even from a single Prakrit. In fact none of the Prakrits have it. Is 't it a bit far fetched to assume that these languages developed a nasal consonant independently? 2405:204:9387:50DE:0:0:84F:70A0 02:46, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

This is pretty common, cf ओष्ठ (oṣṭha), [1]. Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi generally do this before ṭh. —Aryaman ^{(मुझसे बात करो)} 02:51, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

@Aryamanarora: Thank you. Yes I will create an account one of these days. I'm still learning the formatting and the languages though. I'm not fully aware of all the tags and how to use them, for instance i did not know about signing which you then told me the other day.
