you anc gre is ok, perhaps need to link to each word now. τά ἐν οἴκῳ μή ἐν δήμῳ: Those of the house, not in public = not to be publicized. It is a ρητό=?? saying?

The ἐν οἴκῳ, τὰ ἐν τῷ δήμῳ εἰρημένα^{those said in public} and ἐν δήμῳ bits are ancient for sure, @Rossyxan, but the whole phrase? I am afraid it is not ancient. I cannot find an ancient text with it. Bab says nothing, DSMG nothing... LSJ nothing, DGE yok. Books.googgle I find 1860s but not further back. Internet sites: not to be trusted. Only Dimitrakos says: ancient and modern proverb If your trust him, ok. But I have NOT found it....
