Hi, i am Katerina Sarri, pianist, greek, female, and if any wiktionarian needs help, i can proofread all periods of Greek.

  • here, at en.wiktionary I add pronunciations, sources and make corrections Sarri.greek (talk - work)
  • at el.wiktionary, work, sysop since 2019, bur.2021.
  • I recorded some audio files for Greek pronunciation (#logbook) at commons

Although i am NOT a philologist, i got a degree of philosophy from the university of Athens back in my youth, so my ancient greek is tolerable and my modern greek is fairly good. For etymology, dialects, phonetics, I only got through lessons term1, 2 of university curricula). My english is so-so.

I prefer to view ClassicVector2010; lately I view more and more with monobook, the most economical of all skins. I do not use skins which lack written out interwikis available to immediate clicks. Also, I like Contents repeated, fully numbered.

Etymologies (for Greek) are like chemical equations; there should be the same number of elements each side of the equation. Stems, interfixes and endings must be stated and linked (otherwise, explained).

τιτρώσκω (titrṓskō) + -σις gives *τιτρωσκωσις and the reader is left helpless at lemma τρῶσις2024.
Creation of word with stem τρω- as found in verb τιτρώσκω (τῐ-τρώ-σκω) (titrṓskō (tĭ-trṓ-skō)) + -σις > τρῶσις (trôsis)
which τρῶ(σις) (trô(sis)) + modern -ση gives τρώση (trósi)
For stem τρω- see Proto-Indo-European *terh₃- at *terh₁-
