Stroke order
editI have noticed a discrepancy with the stroke order gifs/ diagrams- in the diagrams, Taiwanese and Chinese stroke orders are the same, but the gif for China's stroke order is completely different. As I am not native, I cannot say which is wrong between the gif and diagram, but either way they don't match up. Can a native speaker correct this? Scurly07 (talk) 09:25, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Justinrleung 现代汉语通用字笔顺规定 as included on pg 121 column 1 in 语言文字规范标准 978-7-100-12169-9 gives dian (left) zhe (bottom) dian (top) pie (from right) dian (right). The Taiwan Stroke Order seems correct- see [1]. Removed the offending diagram and animation here: [2]. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 11:51, 18 August 2024 (UTC) (Modified)
- @Scurly07, Geographyinitiative: Thanks for bringing this up. I think what's currently in File:必-order.gif is the "traditional" stroke order in Chinese calligraphy. I'm not exactly sure what is should be labelled as. As far as I know, there isn't a correct file on Wikimedia Commons at the moment for showing the standard stroke order according to Mainland China. Might need to talk to someone over there because I probably don't have time to make a file. — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 04:18, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
- Actually, what is currently at File:必-aorder.gif is the standard in Mainland China. — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 18:12, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Scurly07, Geographyinitiative: The animated versions should be fixed now, with the help of Wikimedia Commons editor Yug. — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 20:27, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
