editI'm trimming this list, as a number of the items here are not "terms" so much as conjugations. -- Eiríkr Útlendi | Tala við mig 18:48, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
Old Japanese remnant?
editSome place names Oyogi are spelled in kanji either as 於与岐 or 於予岐, both pointing to a hypothetical Old Japanese *oyo2gi1. (Notifying Eirikr, TAKASUGI Shinji, Atitarev, Fish bowl, Poketalker, Cnilep, Marlin Setia1, Huhu9001, 荒巻モロゾフ, 片割れ靴下, Onionbar, Shen233, Alves9, Cpt.Guapo, Sartma, Lugria, LittleWhole): , also @Kwékwlos, Mellohi!, any thoughts? - The name of the place in question is related to a shrine said to have been built in 710,[1] the time of Old Japanese. It's never known it was true or not, at least the Arisaka's law supports existence of yo₂ (note also that the yo in the 2nd mora alters into *e strangely in Ryukyuan equivalents). 荒巻モロゾフ (talk) 00:39, 24 June 2023 (UTC)
- @荒巻モロゾフ I belived the second mora in Northern Ryukyuan is from a form *Oyug(-i). Chuterix (talk) 01:58, 24 June 2023 (UTC)
