Does it mean the Internet or just the world wide web? — This unsigned comment was added by 62.252.64.14 (talk) at 02:32, 24 November 2004‎ (UTC).Reply

I was just wondering that myself. All OneLook hits state give the Internet as the only definition (apart from one which also has "A connection between a network of Internets (Interplanetary)"). If the term never means the WWW, I'm surprised. — Smjg (talk) 18:12, 21 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Interplanetary network edit

Umm, does all this interplanetary network stuff really need to be in here?? -- OlEnglish (Talk) 08:07, 5 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

@ OlEnglish and TTO
I think the quotation that TTO has now removed was relevant content showing early use of the word. It may be the first correct usage of the word if you exclude mockery as a valid "meaning". Just because it was a television reference I still found the the information was relevant. If there is no objection in the next 7 days I will reinsert the quotation. -- ryper (Talk) 19:30 19 Mar 2015 (UTC)

@ryper: Fair enough, but you should add three durably-archived citations to the sense (see WT:CFI). Otherwise I'm of a mind to take it to requests for verification.
On a side note it would be better if the quotations went directly under the related senses. I have done this for the quotations already in the entry. This, that and the other (talk) 20:44, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
