Latin. Rfv-sense: "slaughterhouse". I don't see it in the references, and I'm a little surprised that this sense would be masculine rather than feminine or neuter.--Urszag (talk) 22:12, 26 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

The FEW provides only the definitions 'zum (fleisch)markt gehörig' and 'fleischer'.
I don't see any sense like 'slaughterhouse' or 'meat-market' among the descendants either. That would rather be macellum and its descendants.
