Talk:multidimensional array
Recursive data structure
editThe recursive definition is creative, clear, and general. Nice. I was shocked to see N without a domain (e.g. ) but it works in prose :-) . I'm not sure about the need for "underlying memory architecture" (think Turing tape), especially the claimed requirement for the memory to be arranged linearly since that oddly suggests that the array vectors or elements must be arranged linearly varying with at least one array index (think dynamic arrays), but the def seems pretty solid to me. Well done. Rod (A. Smith) 07:01, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Seems SoP
editI doubt I'd be doing anyone any favours by taking three highly technical senses to RFV/RFD, but really, this is just any array in multiple dimensions, right (as long as you understand those terms in comp sci)? You can say "this array is not multidimensional"; you can talk about tridimensional arrays, or multidimensional data structures of other kinds; the words aren't necessarily glued together.
