I'm not really a fan that it uses forward slashes. That's used to denote IPA already, and shouldn't be used for non-IPA transcriptions IMO.
Forward slashes denote loose pronunciation. If it was closed brackets, I would be inclined to agree with you. There was actually a large debate on this in relation to adding |ts=.
