My wiki activity is restricted to en.wiktionary, since I have come to the conclusion that wiki projects in Romanian are a lost cause.
I started out editing Latin entries, which are plagued by a trait which I would call crustiness
—I like to hope that I’ve exfoliated that crust off every Latin entry I’ve touched. I took up learning Latin on a whim which grew into love, led by Hans Ørberg’s Familia Romana textbook.
Another less explainable whim led me to start learning Akkadian. I made it fifteen chapters into Huehnergard’s book before the dread caused by the heap of devilish cuneiform syllables I’d have to learn outweighed my fascination with the beautiful language.
Coming to my senses about practical matters and not wanting my Akkadian training to go to waste I took up Modern Hebrew. Something else I’ve come to my senses about is the fact that I’m far more useful as an editor of a language I’m actually competent in, so now I contribute to Wiktionary’s coverage of Romanian.
My German is good if rusty, I hated French before it was cool, and learning Taiwanese and Hungarian is on my bucket list.
FWOTD’s created by me: nauscō, salisātor, šandanakkum, reciprocicornis, încurca, עָטַן, bisonus.
Flagship entries: porrō for Latin, abia for Romanian (hopefully to be replaced by tot when it’s done).
