Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wiktionary. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk (discussion) and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to one of the discussion rooms or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! --EncycloPetey 01:58, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Maybe not new to wikidom, but the focus and procedures here differ considerably from Wikipedia. For example, standard format is far more important here than on WP. There are standard section headers, specific templates, and we frown on redirects. --EncycloPetey 02:02, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
It is now :) See WT:ELE for the general format explanation, or refer to a model page like listen, hinder, or parrot to see how things are done. I did make two adjectments: (1) the {{en-verb}} template adds the grammar category automatically, so you don't need to add a category line when the template is used, (2) the e drops out of the past and participles, so I adjusted the template coding slightly. --EncycloPetey 02:08, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
